Senior Backend Engineer

About the role
You will own the services behind our payments ledger: the write path that must remain correct under load, the nightly reconciliation process, and the interfaces built by two other teams. The technology stack primarily involves Node.js and PostgreSQL, with a message queue mediating interactions.
What you'll do
Own the ledger write path end-to-end.
Ensure reconciliation processes are correct and explainable.
Review interfaces other teams depend on.
Participate in the on-call rotation with three other engineers.
What we're looking for
Five or more years building services that handle money or similarly unforgiving domains.
Deep expertise in PostgreSQL.
Comfortable reasoning about concurrency rather than guessing at it.
