Growth/Questions

Answered before you ask.

20 questions from the four services, in one place. Each answer is the one published on its own service page, so nothing here is a second version of anything.

Positioning and messaging

What this service covers, what it costs and how long it takes

Is this a workshop or is something built at the end of it?
There is a workshop in the middle, but the deliverable is written work: a positioning statement, a message architecture, page copy and a sales narrative. A workshop on its own tends to feel good for a fortnight and then get forgotten.
We already know our positioning. Can you skip to the copy?
Sometimes, yes. If you can send us the positioning statement and three people in your company describe the product the same way, we will take it and go straight to writing. If those three answers differ, the copy will not fix that and we will say so.
Who needs to be involved from our side?
A founder or the person who can settle an argument about strategy, plus whoever runs sales. Four to six interviews across the company, and one working session with the people who can actually decide. Anything less and the output has no authority inside your business.
What if we disagree with the positioning you recommend?
Then we argue it out and you decide, because you have to live with it. We will show the reasoning and the alternatives we discarded, and if you pick a different route we will write to that one properly rather than sulking about it.
Do you write for technical products?
Yes, and it is most of what we do. The engineering practice at Thinkscoop is next door, so the person writing about your inference costs or your data model can get the detail checked before it is published rather than guessing.

Brand and design systems

What this service covers, what it costs and how long it takes

Can you build the site as well as design it?
Yes. Thinkscoop builds software, so the front-end can be built by the same company that designed it. If you have your own engineers we will hand over a specification and review the build instead, which is usually cheaper for you.
Do you do a rebrand if we just need a website?
Not automatically. Plenty of companies need a better site and a tidier type scale, not a new identity. We will tell you which one you are, and we would rather do the smaller piece well.
What design tools do you work in?
We work in whatever your team already uses, so that the handover is not a migration. If you have no preference we will pick one and say why.
How do you handle accessibility?
Contrast ratios are computed during design, not audited afterwards, and every text pair we ship meets WCAG AA. Focus states, keyboard order and reduced-motion behaviour are specified as part of the design rather than left to the developer.
Do we own the files?
Yes. Source files, fonts we licensed on your behalf, and full ownership of the work. Nothing is held back to make a retainer harder to end.

Channels and paid media

What this service covers, what it costs and how long it takes

Which channel should we start with?
It depends on how your buyers decide, not on which platform is popular this year. A long enterprise cycle and a self-serve product need different answers. We will recommend one or two to start and hold the rest back until the first ones work.
Will you guarantee a cost per lead?
No. Anyone quoting you a number before running a single test on your product is guessing, and you should treat the guess as a sales tactic. We will tell you what we expect to learn in the first six weeks and what we would need to see to keep spending.
Do you charge a percentage of ad spend?
No. A percentage of spend pays us to spend more, which is the wrong incentive. We price the work, and the media budget is yours and paid on your own accounts.
Who owns the ad accounts?
You do. We work inside your accounts with our own access, so if the engagement ends you keep the history, the audiences and the learning. Accounts built under an agency identity are a trap and we do not use them.
What if a channel is not working?
We say so in the weekly report, and if it is still not working after a fair test we recommend stopping. A retainer that quietly keeps a dead channel alive is the most common way this work wastes money.

Outbound and content systems

What this service covers, what it costs and how long it takes

Do you send outbound automatically?
Not without a person in the loop. Sequences are drafted, reviewed and released by someone who is accountable for them. Fully automated sending is how companies burn a domain and a reputation in the same month.
Do you buy lists?
No. Lists are researched and verified against a defined target, which is slower and works considerably better. A purchased file is mostly people who will never reply and some who will report you.
Will you ghostwrite for our founder?
We will draft in their voice from interviews and their own material, and they approve everything before it publishes. We will not invent opinions they do not hold or claims they cannot stand behind in a meeting.
How long before outbound produces anything?
Infrastructure and warm-up take a few weeks before meaningful volume is safe to send. Anyone starting at full volume in week one is spending your domain reputation to look fast. We would rather be honest about the ramp.
Can our team run this after you leave?
That is the intent. The runbook, the templates, the list criteria and the reporting are written as we go and handed over. If you want us to keep running it we will, but not because you cannot.
